Dr. Amy Dunning for School Board

I am thrilled to run for the New Hanover County Board of Education. With a Ph.D. in education and over 15 years of experience teaching students, supporting practicing teachers, and preparing future educators, I bring both deep knowledge and firsthand understanding of what strong schools need. 

Grounded in a commitment to high-quality instruction, elevating student thinking, and effective communication, I am positioned to contribute meaningfully to the Board’s work. My leadership in advancing instructional excellence and collaborating with diverse stakeholders will support informed decisions that lead to strong, student-centered outcomes. By bringing both classroom insight and system-level expertise, I aim to help shape thoughtful policies that reflect the needs of students, families, and educators.
